The Creative Industries Innovation Centre (CIIC), hosted at the University of Technology, Sydney, recently launched a new website providing business resources specifically for creative businesses and entrepreneurs.
The website aims to grow the potential of Australia's creative enterprises across industries including design and architecture, through to software development and the performing arts.
"We know that the stimulation of ideas-based businesses is integral to the health and sustainability of the Australian economy and that's why UTS and the CIIC invested in the development of the creativeinnovation website," CIIC director Lisa Colley said.
The site focuses on how those working in the creative industries – whether as designers, content producers, artists, filmmakers or architects, to name but a few relevant fields – are contributing to new platforms, ideas and services that help to grow Australia's innovation economy.
Creativeinnovation offers access to national business development services, business resources, company features and interviews with creative entrepreneurs, said Colley.
"We also know that until now, there has been a lack of targeted business resources for creative companies."
She said the site was vital to the delivery of CIIC services nationally and that it would enhance the profile of Australia's creative companies both nationally and internationally.
"The website will help the CIIC to build stronger connections and networks between creative companies and promote emerging market opportunities."
