The campaign shoot idea for client Wine & Dine'm Catering first started out as a grand idea. Photographer Damien Bredberg was asked direct by the client to shoot 22 scenes, 22 locations and 50 models.
However, given the short time frame and budget constraints, it was left up to Bredberg to conceptualise an affordable image with as many scenes as possible.
After 80 hours of pre production, 16 scenes, 25 hands on set, one location, 11 models, and 40 hours of retouching, the campaign came to life.
"The client came to me with a very grand idea and for the budget we had it was not going to be achievable," says Bredberg.
"I came up with another concept so we could get flexibility in the shoot, enlisting only 11 models and duplicating some of them a few times."
The trick was in the styling, he explains. The same models were styled differently so lots of attention was paid to the props and wardrobe, headed up by freelance stylist Lucia Arias-Martinez, with the help of make-up artist Steve Mena and hair stylist Christian Alexander.
When it came to creating the illusion of many different scenes, Bredberg decided to shoot one really high definition image so that in post production retoucher Danny Joslyn could crop certain parts of the shot so they would look totally original.
The shoot was produced by Nicole Leatherby.
