Tropfest selects Captiv8 to bring motion to life

The world’s biggest short film festival has selected a production company Captiv8 to produce the event and broadcast motion graphics for Tropfest 2010.

Captiv8 will produce the motion graphics to accompany all elements of the event including the opening introduction, finalist and winners announcements as well as graphics for the live broadcast on Movie Extra.

The theme for 2010 is “Dice” which must be incorporated by each finalist film. Captiv8 is working on a way to bring this theme to life, creating the overall feel of the festival through motion graphics.

“It’s great to be working with a film festival of this magnitude, our design and production team is really excited to be working with the team at Tropfest. This year’s creative approach is unique, something imaginative and distinctive.” said Keir Maher, director at Captiv8.

Captiv8 filmed content over three days and combined this with post production to develop an aesthetic which evokes the historical roots of film making whilst retaining a contemporary edge.
