Rohan Marley, son of the late, great and legendary musician Bob Marley is in Australia this week promoting the launch of the family's new music lifestyle brand, The House of Marley and the charity, the 1Love Foundation.
Launching globally this month Marley will promote the range of personal audio products in Sydney tonight Sep 7 at a music/media/celebrity bash.
Engineered by musicians for music lovers, the audio product range claims to be superior to competitors in design, performance and affordability. The ethical nature of the business takes a front seat with ecologically sustainable materials used in the manufacturing wherever possible.
The former pro football player is also the co-founder of Marley coffee, an organic coffee plantation and sustainable farming business in Jamaica, Africa and PNG.
Profits from the range feed into the 1Love Foundation – a movement with the simple mission to 'do good in honour of Bob Marley's vision of hope and unity'. The chosen local chairty is Reclink Australia – an organisation providing social, arts and sports activities for people experiencing disadvantage. Internationally the brand supports UNEP, Charity Water, African leadership Academy and Invisible Children.
Possibly known more in show business circles for his long partnership with The Fugee's frontwoman Lauren Hill and their five children (with considerable celebrity gossip dogging the family recently), this trip sees Marley on a serious and heartfelt mission.
Billed as "a brand with heart and soul" the corporate focus is on its commitment to building a better world and delivering quality products that stay true to Bob Marley's legacy.
Australian Creative will discuss with Marley the ethics of creativity in the non profit marketplace, what drives his mission and how he feels about brand awareness and inherent campaigns in a modern technological market versus the building of a cause. Look out for an extended interview with Marley next week.
