The Global Awards and Bravo! in Sydney draws nigh

The New York-based Global Awards honouring 'The Worlds Best Healthcare Advertising' and Bravo! are reminding the industry that the 2011 Global Awards are being held on December 1 in Sydney, Australia.

The fourth annual gala will be held in historic Rocks district where global award winners and guests will view a showcase of the award-winning print and video work. This will be followed by an award ceremony hosted by The Global Awards and Bravo! Together with healthcare agencies and the Communications Council of Australia.

Bravo! founding committee member and creative director at McCann Healthcare Sydney, June Laffey said it was a world first event to announce Global award winners in their own turf.
"We get the chance to congregate and motivate agency and clients to produce smart, crafted, creative work," she said. "This year we will be recognising our home-grown talent and an event planned to be the most inspiring yet."

Hugh Fitzhardinge, creative director at Ward6 and an annual Global Award judge in Sydney said the event had become the Oscars of healthcare advertising in Australia.
"But more importantly it's about spreading a belief to everyone in the agencies and more importantly clients (to borrow from someone more famous than me) that creativity isn’t just a 'nice to have'. It’s one of the most powerful business tools in the world."

Bravo will also present two special awards – the Brave Young Suit Award, recognising emerging talent and the Fearless Client Award, in honor of clients who have supported great work.

Last year the Global Awards Grand Jury recognised Australian agencies with five Global Awards.  McCann Healthcare earned two for Aricept - one for their integrated campaign Toaster/Dresser/Shower/Christmas Card and the second for the direct mail piece, Christmas Card at Easter. Sudler & Hennessey was awarded for Everything Else Can Wait for their TVC created for St John First Aid, Ursa received an award for Kevin87, for their public relations package created for ACSA, and Ward6 was honoured for Acid Resistance - a sales training video for Pariet.

All winning entries will be featured online and promoted by the Global Awards network of representatives in 75 countries.
