Sydney Film School graduate Brian Lye has been selected to screen his short film LoveBirds in the international short film competition of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, held in the United States.
A film based on the exploration of the human species, LoveBirds was made during Lye's studies at FAMU, the Czech film school, where Brian was accepted after finishing his Diploma course at Sydney Film School.
Written, directed and co-edited by Lye, LoveBirds is a comedy that looks at the similarities between bird love and human love and shows one tragic line that connects the two worlds.
In the Czech language, with an international cast and crew, the film confirms the director’s undeniable talent already recognised through his earlier work.
Lye is a member of the Secret Film Society, a production group formed of SFS graduates.
A panel dedicated to the Secret Film Society will take place at 3pm on December 14, 2010, at the 13th Sydney Film School Festival.
The 13th Sydney Film School Festival takes place at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington on December 14 and 15, 2010.
