Spirit Films clean up

In an evening that recognises the talents of the states’ premier cinematographers, Spirit Films walked away with a bundle of trophies at the 2010 SA and WA Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) Awards, held in Adelaide.

ACS state president and Spirit Films director of photography Ernie Clark won a gold award for the Rural Bank “Symphony” TVC.

With post production by sister company, Oasis Post, and a soundtrack by Martyn Zub, the spot transformed everyday farming into a symphony of clinks, bangs and moos.

Clark will now progress through to the National Awards for Cinematography to be held in 2011.

Aaron Gully picked up a gold for the Hilltop Hoods’ Parade of the Dead DVD. This was a collaboration between Spirit Films, Oasis Post, Oasis DVD and Kojo Pictures.

Paula Smith, executive producer of Spirit Films says: "Our team’s performance at the awards is an absolute credit to their talent and dedication to producing outstanding work."

Gully also scored a silver for the Kamikaze music video, a gold for short film The Edge of Reality and another silver for Jamshop’s "Ampersand" TVC for Uniting Church.

Young director Maxx Corkindale also did well out of the evening, picking up Gold for the 2009 Anglicare Christmas Appeal TVC, produced through Spirit Films.
