JWT Melbourne's campaign for the 2010 Melbourne Writers Festival took out a swag of gongs at the Spikes Asia Awards 2011 in Singapore.
Stories From The Street won gold and silver in the categories of Design and Media respectively. The agency also took out two bronze awards – in the Outdoor category for Stories From The Street and Bronze in the Film category for the Writer's Block campaign.
JWT Melbourne's executive creative director Richard Muntz said it was another sensational set of awards for the festival's campaign.
"It recently earned a Gold Lion at Cannes and became the only Australian entry shortlisted in the prestigious Jay Chiat Awards for Strategic Excellence," he said.
With a brief to build anticipation for the festival, the JWT campaign was underpinned by an interactive book to illustrate the Stories From Every Angle theme.
The efficacy was significant with a sharp spike in attendance (over 50,000 people) and pre-sales rising from $11,000 in 2009, to $110,000 in 2010.
The Glue Society fared extremely well with involvement of varying levels in no less than 11 of the Australian accolades. The independent creative collective worked with Will O'Rourke for Clemenger BBDO Melbourne on the NAB Break Up campaign which took out the PR Grand Prix, Promo Grand Prix, Media Gold and was shortlisted for the Special Events category.
