The combined animated and live action 30-second TVC introduces viewers to the three new mascots of Salvos Stores – Shop, Donate and Recycle.
With the tagline 'Come in for a good idea!' the three characters encourage the public to visit a Salvos Stores for a good idea on how to shop more economically, donate to help those in need, or recycle in order to contribute positively to the environment.
The TVC comprises of 11 shots and over 77 layers. Production house Childseye studio manager Campbell Rooney said: “Our brief was to create a style that was unique, something that will keep people watching and absorbed. I think this TVC has most certainly achieved that”.
The commercial was rendered in full HD 1080p, with the time pressures of rendering alleviated by a hardware upgrade half way through the project. This meant that a frame could be rendered out in 8 minutes, instead of the previous 40 minutes.
The insight behind the campaign was to communicate clearly the key messages behind what Salvos
Stores does, but in a fun way.
DGM Collective principal, Daniel Melone said: “By having the freedom and trust from Salvos Stores to create something that was significantly different to what most not for profits do allowed us to push the boundaries.
"We have every confidence that we have created something that will engage Salvos Stores current customer and donor base, as well as build relationships with a whole new group of potential customers.”
