Revolver's Justin Kurzel takes out best director AACTA for Snowtown

Revolver director, Justin Kurzel, has been awarded the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award for Best Direction of his debut feature film Snowtown.

The ceremony for the inaugural awards presentation was held at the Sydney Opera House where the film also picked up both Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actress awarded to Daniel Henshall and Louise Harris.

Produced by Warp Films, the film tells the story of John Bunting, one of Australia’s most notorious serial killers and was the only Australian film to be selected for the Critics’ Week at 2011 Festival De Cannes.
