Ogilvy Group Melbourne has today announced the appointment of international award-winning creative and former MADC president Richard Ralphsmith as executive creative director.
Following several months of working within the agency’s Sydney office, Ralphsmith will join Ogilvy Melbourne’s creative team.
Ralphsmith’s 18 years experience spans both local and international markets including time spent with M&C Saatchi in Sydney, London and New York, Batey in Singapore and most recently creative director at Clemenger Harvie Edge.
Ogilvy Australia CEO Andrew Baxter said Ralphsmith’s creative pedigree teamed with his abilities in emerging platforms made him an outstanding choice for the ECD role in Melbourne.
“Not only is Richard a proven and award-winning creative, but he understands how to work collaboratively across a number of specialist areas which is a vital component within the Ogilvy model,” he said.
Ralphsmith said that Ogilvy Group Melbourne had many talented people and a reputation for being one of the best managed offerings in Australia.
“The signature on the front of our building is one of the most celebrated brands in advertising,” he said. “We also have a client list to die for. My task is to ensure that we employ all of these strengths, challenging ourselves to continually improve the creative work that we produce for these clients.”
