Radical Media has won the Webby for Best Use of Video or Moving Image. The Wilderness Downtown, written and directed by Chris Milk, is an interactive film designed to be viewed on Google Chrome.
Compiling elegant images, an evocative score and the use of the viewer's recollection of the address where they grew up, the film goes on a journey based on real satellite images. It is a surprising component, while watching the film, to view one's childhood home, larger than life on-screen.
The film is processor heavy and is optimised for Chrome but can be viewed on other browsers.
Radical, (along with Arcade Fire and B-Reel), was nominated for two pieces of work in the same category, the other being The Johnny Cash Projection.
