Printers get your game on

Entries close soon for the second annual Printovation Awards. Developed in 2010 to recognise innovation, creativity and high quality in print, the awards encourage entries that push the boundaries of print at a consistently high standard.

Organised by the non-profit Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia (GASAA) , the five categories are wide format, offset/web, digital (non-variable), digital (variable) and general.

Entries are closing on Monday, August 15 with judging held on August 22. The awards will be presented at a gala event on Tuesday 13 September at the PrintCom Expo in Melbourne.

The judges will be looking for printers who combine a number of different techniques, both technical and strategic, to create an original concept.

This year's judges are: Scott Telfer, managing director, Southern Colour NSW; Marcus Piper, joint creative director, one8one7; James Cryer, managing director, JDA Recruitment; Jackie Connor, general manager, Digitalpress.

Theo Pettaras, Printovation Awards chairman said the GASAA's purpose and involvement in the inaugural awards was greatly appreciated.

"It’s wonderful that the judging panel felt the value of the Printovation Awards program to make themselves available again in 2011," he said.
