A new directing duo has officially launched its new collaboration for Plaza Films with Helen Clemens and Pete Commins joining visual effects forces as Clemens & Commins.

The new voice at Plaza, the innovative multi-disciplinarian creators with an irreverent style, combine elements of film, animation, theatrics and high fashion in their work.

Individually accomplished directors, designers and creators Commins has been directing commercials in the UK since 2004 with Clemens joining Plaza as a director in 2009. In 2011 she was shortlisted as a Cannes Young Director and won Silver for Best Animation at PromaxBDA New York.

Peter Masterton, executive producer at Plaza said that since meeting eight years ago the two directors had gone from strength to strength.

“It’s not only their directing but also illustrating and designing wondrous worlds for their creative spawn to inhabit,” he said. “Now, joined at the hip, we are sure they will continue to amaze.”
