DTDigital – one of Australia's biggest digital agencies – will set up for business in Sydney in January.
Working in collaboration with with Ogilvy & Mather and OgilvyOne, DTDigital will be seeking to build direct relationships with new clients while partnering with Ogilvy to offer specialised digital services to existing Ogilvy clients.
DTDigital joined the STW Group in 2003 and now has 110 full-time staff.
The Ogilvy/DTDigital partnership has proved successful in Melbourne. For the past four years, DTDigital, which was founded by David Trewern who is now STW Group's chief digital officer as well as DTDigital chairman, has been working closely with BADJAR Ogilvy and OgilvyOne.
DTDigital's success has come through offering a unique, full-service, which includes a deep specialisation in high-growth areas that are not typically part of the offering from ad agencies.
The company has developed capabilities in areas such as user experience, advanced web application engineering, eCommerce, email marketing, social media, mobile marketing, application development and 'beyond the browser' digital experiences.
Andrew Baxter, Ogilvy CEO, said focusing only on digital enables DTDigital to offer a specialised, expert service. “There are too many agencies with a handful of digital guys in the corner claiming hardcore expertise,” he said. “I've worked very closely with DTDigital team for four years in Melbourne and working with them in Sydney will allow us to better anything even the large stand-alone digital agencies can offer.”
Brian Vella, DTDigital MD, is looking forward to expanding the business into Sydney. “This is a natural step for DTDigital as we move towards a national presence,” he said. “We'll hit the ground running with a strong and credible team aligned under one leadership structure, ready to partner with new clients.”
