There will be a new composition of judging panels for the 2011 Hotshop Awards, which will be judged in February 2012. In most categories the judging panels will be comprised of senior creatives from Australia's leading advertising agencies. Judges will score the entries according to three fundamental criteria: Innovation, Execution and Consistency.
In the new judging format all work, with the exception of the Advertising and Photography categories, will be sent to the judges for assessment. The panels will then meet to discuss the shortlisted entries to decide category finalists and winners.
Separate judging panels will score the Young Achiever and Photography categories, while the Advertising category will be judged by marketers.
Categories of the 2011 awards include Advertising, Animation, Broadcast Design, Digital/Online, Graphic Design, Production, Post Production / VFX, Sound and Music, Photographer of the Year, Illustrator of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, In-house Campaign of the Year and Idea of the Year. The Illustration and Photography categories are now open to individuals rather than companies, and the entry fees have been reduced.
Entries close on January 30. Download the entry kit here.
Final jury announcements and other developing news will follow in the new year.

Branded content is here to stay, that is for sure. So what does that mean for designers? Having a sponsor on board means that you have to create composite logos, which is quite challenging; essentially you need to create a logo that holds another logo.
