Last week MINI CREATIVE Challenge winner Dave Gregory received a $5,000 cheque for his winning campaign, titled "Storm Cooper" to promote the new MINI Countryman model.
The digital art director at Flash Group, in Melbourne, was greeted by BWM Group Australia brand communications manager – MINI, Matt Schmidt, who handed over his winning prize.
"It’s fantastic to take the top prize, especially considering the amazing quality of all the entries so congrats to all," says Gregory. "A huge thanks to CREATIVE magazine and the team at MINI. Now I’m 5k nearer to owning a Storm Cooper of my own - think i’ll buy the trooper outfit too."
The white and black of the promo Mini Countryman immediately made Gregory think of a Storm Trooper and having no limits in this brief, why not get Star Wars in there, "you can?t go wrong" he hints.
"Whilst seemingly just playful punnery, it evokes all that the reader knows about the iconic movie and the word ‘storm’ conjures up a powerful feeling of what this car is about," continues Gregory.
"This then ties in with more engaging Star Wars wordplay talking about the many 4’s of the Countryman. Resonating especially with the web savvy demographic who most likely get ?May the 4th be with you emails every year."
