Ogilvy & Mather, Sydney have announced the appoinment of Michael Raso as group creative director and head of art.
The former ECD at McCann Sydney, Raso starts officially in January 2012 and will be responsible for the creative output on the KFC account as well as overseeing art direction across a number of other key clients.
Ogilvy executive creative director, Brett Howlett, said Raso would provide key creative support to the team while adding significant weight to Ogilvy’s art credentials.
“Michael is a great creative thinker, very well respected and regarded within the industry, and his skills and design expertise will greatly enhance the offering at Ogilvy for all our clients,” he said.
“Stepping into this role marks a stronger agency focus on design and art direction. He’ll be a great support to an already smart team of GCDs.”
Raso's work over 20 years has garnered many industry accolades including Cannes, London Internationals, One Show, New York Festivals, AdFest, Mobius, Addy's, Kelly Award, Kinsale Shark Award and Spikes.
Raso said he was looking forward to joining the Ogilvy Group.
“I am excited to work with strategic talent like Mark Sareff and to re-unite with ECD Brett Howlett,” he said. “There’s no question that the Ogilvy network has strength and depth.
