McCann's priceless win

“Getting tight on tour with the All Blacks: Priceless.”  It’s also hugely fun to watch.

McCann Sydney’s TVC for MasterCard that features an overzealous All Blacks fan was voted Best Ad in New Zealand at Television New Zealand’s annual Fair Go Advertising Awards this week.

The awards show is the second most watched show in New Zealand.

The commercial was part of a MasterCard promotion campaign that included TV, radio, outdoor and digital. It had already engaged New Zealand audiences, gaining valuable activity across Twitter and Facebook.
The promotion offered one lucky MasterCard cardholder and a friend the priceless experience of touring Europe for five weeks to watch the All Blacks.

Over the course of 11 weeks, the campaign received more registrations than any prior campaign, making it the most successful New Zealand MasterCard campaign to date.

Oliver Maisey, executive creative director at McCann Sydney, outlined his agency’s achievement, “Kiwis love their All Blacks, so there are a hell a lot of All Black ads on the box each year. It’s great to know ours is not only seen to be the best of them, but of all the non-All Black ads as well. The last few Fair Go winners have all been pretty good, so we’re delighted to be in such good company. After doing pretty well at Spikes Asia, and MADC, it's just more good news for the new McCann.”

Maisey led a team of associate creative director, Joe Hawkins with copywriter, Joe Hawkin and art director, Damian Sloan.

Director was Adam Stevens for production company, Robber’s Dog, with Mark Foster producer.
