McCann boosts ranks

McCann Worldgroup has announced a boost in its Melbourne ranks with four new hires ahead of the imminent appointment of a new national head of planning.

Pat Baron returns to McCann Melbourne as senior creative, reporting to executive creative director John Mescall. Nicky Finlay has joined the agency as creative services manager jumping over from the same role at Sapient Nitro. Her main responsibilities will be to monitor the agency’s internal process procedures and manage creative resources.

Also joining are Megan Jones as senior account manager and Rob White as a strategy intern.

The new hires now boost the McCann group by 14 extra people across the creative, account management and studio teams over the last eight weeks.

Mescall said Baron was a genuine creative thinker with the talent and experience to drive great work and develop strong relationships.

“The new McCann is taking shape and appointing the right talent, with the right skills sets and drive to contribute to the business, is an important part of the reinvention of the agency,” he said. “Our goal is to continue to assemble the most impressive agency talent pool across Australia and New Zealand because talent is any agency’s most salient point of difference.”
