Luscious in London

Teaming up with JWT London, Luscious International director Vincent Ward has created a mythical and highly visual campaign for Diageo’s UK wine brand Blossom Hill.

The spot, ‘Perfect Town’ which is on air now in the UK, follows several girlfriends on a day out. They board an old steam train together that transports them into a beautiful, idyllic world – they step off the train and descend on a giant slide to a place where they can even control the weather.

The senior JWT London creative team, Ronnie Vicek and Bruno Xavier and the deputy head of broadcast Dean Baker flew out to Sydney for the project. Luscious International assembled a design and post production team for the job, including leading matte painter Wayne Haag, whose work includes ‘The Fifth Element’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’.

They also constructed a 10-metre slide for the girls to slide down, which was built in the middle of
an urban Sydney park and shot against green screen to be added into the fantasy world in post.

Dean Baker, deputy head of broadcast at JWT London, said: "With the benefit of hindsight I don't believe we could have selected a better production company with which to realise our vision of Blossom Hill's 'Perfect Town' campaign.

The spot is typical of director Vincent Ward’s style. Dean Baker added: “Vincent is an artist. He doesn’t see the world the way we do, he is a director who has a unique vision, and that is what you're buying into.”
