LIA 2012 extends the deadline

London International Awards has an extended deadline, 10th August 2012. In their own words (because we love the tone), “This is the absolute final deadline extension for registering and completing the entry process.”

For 27 years, LIA has been promoting “creativity, the power of ideas, and new technology in all forms of advertising and design.” Each year nearly 100 of the industry's top creatives from agencies, independents, and networks are invited to judge on the nine LIA panels. Since 2009, they get to do that in Las Vegas.

Awards are given in all the usual categories plus, since 2009 also in “The NEW”, a category for work that refuses to be categorised in any other way. The category recognises “new kinds of ideas, rather than simply new ideas, that create a new vocabulary for the industry, new avenues of thought and ideation, and hint at new roles for agencies.”

They have also created an initiative for young creatives worldwide, called ‘Creative Conversations’. The entire initiative, including the cost associated with travel and hotel, is being funded by LIA.  A selected group of junior creatives will be able to mingle with La's 2012 Judges in As Vegas, as well as listen and interact with many of the industry's luminaries.

Last year's Network of the Year was BBDO and Agency of the Year, BBDO New York. No company qualified for Production Company of the Year. Does knowing all this ignite your competitive fuse? Entry details are on the LIA Awards website.
