Electronics manufacturer LG has released a TV marketing campaign featuring crooner Roy Orbison's song "Losing You" to promote its 10-year warranty.
The TV commercial features abandoned whitegoods to contrast LG's promise of a 10-year warranty.
GPY&R Sydney managing director Phil McDonald said: “Everyone’s inventing fancy new names for fancy new technologies in order to stay ahead of the pack. But this ends up confusing and frustrating the buyer.
“LG is now speaking to consumers in a way they understand. The ‘Abandoned’ campaign takes the simple proposition that LG products last longer because of their superior technology; a claim the company is now backing with an across the range 10-year warranty.”
