Kris Moyes secures ARIA for Best Video

Director Kris Moyes was recently awarded his second ARIA for Best Video, for Sia ‘Clap Your Hands’. Annouced as part of the ARIA Nominations event, the four ARIA Artisan Categories, including Best Video were awarded at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Of the video Moyes notes, "under less than amazing circumstances (the clip was shot in Sia’s New York apartment), something amazing can be made".

Moyes came up with the idea on the plane from Sydney to New York and had just three days when he arrived to find an art director, costume designer and all the rest of the crew.

He brought the scenery to life by using quirky, colourful puppetry techniques showing a playful story of Sia as an array of different puppet characters including a frilled-neck lizard, a frog and the Statue of Liberty.
