Kinetic and oOh! media create a huge 3D Vespa for Peroni

Two of Italy's most famous style icons, Vespa and Peroni Nastro Azzurro, have been brought together in a dramatic billboard ad in Sydney this summer.

The giant Vespa scooter leaping out of the billboard was conjured by creative agency Kinetic and has been built by oOh!media.

The 3D  foam Vespa was sculptured in seven sections and assembled on site above The Oxford Hotel in Darlinghurst. For added realism the scooter's headlight automatically switches on at night.

oOh's head of production, John Purcell said the concept was challenging.
“This is one of the largest 3D foam special builds we've ever done, at four metres and more than 120kgs. But the 3D effect will make a huge impact both during the day and at night.”

Assembling the parts on the billboard frame took more than four hours with the foam Vespa protrudes nearly two-and-a-half metres from the billboard.

Jenny Carey, Peroni Nastro Assurro's marketing manager, said the campaign is an eye-catching concept in a high traffic area.
“Coming into the summer holiday period, we wanted to find an effective and stylish way to get the Peroni Nastro Azzurro brand out there, reminding consumers of the beer's Italian heritage and authenticity, though the interaction with another iconic premium Italian brand.”

The Peroni Vespa campaign will run for one month.
