Ita Buttrose to speak at Leo Burnett Sydney

In an exclusive event tonight Leo Burnett Sydney's People With Impact series will feature the legendary Ita Buttrose.

The regular event series, designed to inform and inspire, brings in diverse and interesting perspectives from outside the industry. The creatively conceived program provides a unique meet and greet opportunity for clients and staff to engage with eachother and benefit from the high level speakers involved.

Previous guest speaker Wayne Bennett challenged the notion of leadership and teamwork as he reflected on his outstanding career and the mistakes he has made.

Leo Burnett Australia's CEO Todd Sampson said that when asking the staff Buttrose was at the top of the list of people they wanted to hear.
"Ita has certainly lived an interesting and colourful life. I can't wait to hear what she has to say," he said.

The youngest editor for The Australian Women's Weekly to date, Buttrose has since been recognised with an OBE for her contribution to journalism as well as earning her place as an Officer of the Order of Australia for her humanitarian efforts and securing a Centenary Medal for her leadership to Australian society.

Buttrose said journalism was a wonderfully unpredictable profession and one never knew what the day would bring.
"It has allowed me to travel to the poorest of villages in Bangladesh to the hallowed rooms of Buckingham Palace where I had afternoon tea with Prince Charles' equerry," she said.
"Through the magazines and newspapers I have edited I've been able to campaign for causes close to my heart and ones that have influenced our way of life in Australia."

Leo Burnett's People With Impact series will continue into 2012 with a diverse line up of inspiring guests.
