Two major announcements have today further unveiled the creative concepts by Imagination for Sydney City's New Year's Eve events.
An all Australian soundtrack accompanying the fireworks and an exclusively composed anthem are now included in the collaborative creative effort of Imagination and other creatives including designer Marc Newson as artistic director, music producer Josh Arahams and David Carbone as musical directors together with composer Nick Wood and theatre luminary Dein Perry as performance director.
For the first time in history, the City of Sydney has engaged the globally renowned creative agency to take the famous event to the next level. Imagination, who specialise in amplifying brands through live experiences, won the account in February this year.
Televised to 1.1 billion people globally the spectacular event will celebrate the coming year with the new theme of Time To Dream. The all-Australian event soundtrack will feature artists AC/DC, INXS, Pendulum, Gurrumul and The Swingers.
Written by Nick Wood, the anthem We Are The Light is performed by emerging Australian talent including the lead vocals of Joe Pringle and Liz Bojanic, with backing vocals by the Sydney Children's Choir, and a band including Alex Carapetis and Wizardz of oz.
All proceeds from the sale of We Are The Light go to the 2011 Sydney New Year's Eve charity partner, CARE Australia.
Imagination’s general manager Heath Campanaro said the new additions are just the start of things to come, as Imagination begins its three year tenure with Sydney’s most famous event.
“Sydney’s New Year’s Eve is about unity, great times and looking forward to a bright future,” he said. “A Time to Dream embraces the Aussie spirit, and the anthem and soundtrack just help us prove to everyone that we not only have the best city in the world, but the best talent too.”
