Hooroo finds your secret spot


Everyone wants to visit a secret spot. And everyone likes to talk about the one they've found.

So social travel website, Hooroo.com.au, has put these two things together to unearth Australia's favourite off-the-beaten-track travel spots.

The Secret Spots campaign asked travellers to nominate their fave experiences or destinations on the Hooroo Facebook page. An panel of experts has shortlisted the entries and the top 40 are up for public vote during phase two of the campaign, which runs from November 13th to 28th.

The final phase of the campaign, in January 2013, will reveal Australia's top five Secret Spots.

"Every traveller has a beloved and unique Australian travel destination and experience that they have discovered,” explained Hooroo's head of marketing, Lija Wilson, “whether its a historic pub that serves the best Sunday roast or a winding coastal walk with sparkling views. That is why we launching the Secret Spots campaign that centres purely on the nation telling us what the best ‘in the know’ experiences.From there, we will be able to officially unveil the top five Secret Spots in Australia, as voted by the public.”

The top five winners will feature in a national Hooroo publicity campaign as well as
receiving a range of travel prizes up to the value of $14,500.

The Hooroo ‘Secret Spots’ campaign is being supported by Facebook media. A
Fairfax partnership will enable digital and print executions to run in phases two and three.
