Got an idea worth sharing?

The TEDxSydney event will feature 20 of Australia's leading innovators and thinkers – along with a selection of the best ‘ideas worth spreading’ submitted in video format by the Australian public.

The free all-day event will be attended by 650 creatives, including hundreds of TED enthusiasts, selected via an online application process.

For those who missed out on tickets, in collaboration with CarriageWorks and Julian Morrow, there is a free live viewing event in the foyer and a live webstream of the event (log onto website www.tedxsydney.com).

Participants are required to make a 60-second video of an idea and upload it to YouTube – tagging it tedxsydneyideasb21c. For more details on how to upload ideas, visit website: www.business21c.com.au/tedxsydney

The best videos will be selected to be broadcast live at TEDxSydney 2010 and their makers will receive an invitation to the event.

“TED is all about ideas, and ideas is what we do at UTS Business. We’re excited to be working with TEDxSydney to collect and disseminate Sydney’s best and most energetic ideas. I’m hoping that by spreading them through TED they’ll become reality,” said dean of UTS Business, Roy Green.

TEDxSydney is being organised by Sydney's Remo Giuffré (REMO General Store).

“TED is a unique learning environment which pays homage to the potency of ideas,” said Giuffré.

“Speakers are invited to the stage based on the merit of their ideas and TEDxSydney continues this tradition. For TEDxSydney we felt that we would establish a platform for local thinkers, doers and storytellers.

"We consider our role to be that of talent scouts; unearthing people from this part of the world, who inspire, and through their ideas and actions, make a powerful contribution to life on earth.”

TEDxSydney will be held at CarriageWorks in Sydney's Eveleigh on Saturday, May 22, 2010.
