Getty Images launches Mishmash competition

The annual Mishmash music video remix competition has been launched by Getty Images.

Film and music creatives from around the world are invited to take part by producing a short video using a wealth of Getty Images' content from more than 825,000 commercial quality, creative and editorial video clips, as well as an extensive music catalogue containing 140,000 original tracks by some of the world's best independent artists.

Joining the competition's judging panel this year is Francis Coady, director of the Bondi Short Film Festival, and Steve Thomson, creative director of Brandspank.

Entrants are invited to enter one of three categories – short story, music video or video art – submitting a video of between one and three minutes. All videos will be uploaded to the Mishmash website, where they can be rated ahead of the jury's deliberations.

Andrew Saunders, senior vice president of creative content at Getty Images, is looking forward to seeing this year's entries.
“The competition will once again enable some of the world's up and coming creative talents to showcase their talent and also demonstrate why the evolution of online video and multimedia is still a growing and highly engaging communications platform,” he said.

Mishmash is open to entries from around the world. The competition is open until February 29.
