Check out why Steve Ayson keeps winning awards. The Sweet Shop director has just made this witty spot, Senior Rebels, for Volkswagen Group China hilarious - to underline DDB Guan Group's line, "Fun. Don't Leave it too late.”
The Beetle is a girl's car no longer. It's for all hipsters. Hipsters like humorous vids, and like humorous vids featuring silly oldies even more. So the oldies in this video are seen trying to recapture their cool – by trying to skateboard, spray paint graffiti, rave...none of it ably.
Ayson also directed award winners Lion for DDB Amsterdam (for Central Beheer) and Change Room for DDB Sydney. Here, he teams up with global DDB executive creative director, Jeremy Craigen, and executive creative directors, Greg Bray and Stephen Mui. Art director/copywriters were David Mackersey and Jonathan John.
Ayson's production company is The Sweet Shop, with executive producer, Claire Davidson and producer, Maricel Ticar Santos. Editor, Peter Sciberras at Method Studios. Music, Nelson Can.
