Frost has created a new campaign for Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA). Invited by Mixed Media, the new visual identity for the 2012 SOYA awards centres the creative around the idea of '365'.
The leading grants program for emerging, young creative talent in 2010 attracted over 10,000 submissions from artists, designers, filmmakers, photographers and musicians.
Creative director Vince Frost said that by extending the SOYA branding to SOYA 365 it reflected the new year-long nature of the awards' cycle.
“It is a major change in how the awards will be run,” he said. “The creative is also a play on the 360 degree nature of the awards, celebrating the breadth of Australian talent.”
The campaign's bespoke font is distinctive and contemporary. In the digital space Frost has worked with Mixed Media’s technology partner, Community Engine, to create a dynamic website.
The awards' new incarnation includes 11 categories and enables people to stay in touch with calls for entries, view work submitted for each category and submit an entry online.
Vince Frost has also been appointed the SOYA 365 Visual Design & Communications Mentor for the third time.
