Australian director Ben West is behind a new film that incorporates dozens of special effects. The comedy, called Fugu & Tako, tells the story of two Japanese salary men whose lives change radically when one of them eats a live puffer fish in a sushi bar.

West, of @radical.media, directed the short, which is in Japanese with English subtitles.

The aim was to make something really different, said West.
“Who knows where the ideas come from, but when they arrive you have to run with them,” he said. “Our commitment was to realism in a kind of hybrid of narrative and mock documentary style.”
