Cabana Boys do some scary work

Imagine playing Russian Roulette with your kids. That's the analogy that Cabana Boys has used in its campaign for asbestos awareness.

It shows a family playing Renovation Roulette - using a power drill in place of a pistol in a game of Russian Roulette - as a metaphor for the dangers of renovating without knowing the risks of asbestos.

The campaign, which includes a CSA television commercial, radio, print advertising and online banners was created for the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute and asbestosawareness.com.au.

It will be one part of a public information and education push through NSW WorkCover’s Asbestos Education Committee, that begins during NSW Asbestos Awareness Week, commencing November 26.

The Renovation Roulette campaign was written and art directed by Cabana Boys creative partners, Stuart Ghent and Nik Robinson.

The television commercial was directed by Brendan Young and produced by Brilliant Films, with post production by Frame, Set & Match and sound by We Love Jam, who also produced the radio commercial.

Stills photography was courtesy of Michael Malherbe.
