New Zealand, you're on a roll.
Car commercials. Yawn. This car commercial by Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland. Show it to me again. And again. And again.
I even know it's for a Toyota Corolla. That's how – apologies for the buzzword – engaging it is.
The premise is that hero cat keeps getting himself hurt so that he'll get to ride to the vet in the Toyota. Cat loves riding in car to vet?! You get it, don't you?
Hero cat arranges a run-in with a lawnmower, a cement mixer, the neighbour's Great Dane...the escalation of his injuries is hilarious. Eventually, a street sweeper swallows him. But not even death can down a cat on a mission...
Best part of commercial? No product points. The odd beauty shot is forgivable. It's 100% storytelling. Done 100% well.
