The company that used colour to resurrect its brand so well and so long ago that kids think it is the one and only, has just done a commercial that makes you crave jelly beans. And want an iPod in every colour. (Mums of girls, beware). It’s all about iPods in every colour. Because that’s all the ad is. That and bouncing to a happy beat.
Smart move, yes? Samsung doesn’t have colour - anything.
Makes you feel good about having iEverything again, doesn’t it?
For a commercial that seems to say little, it actually underscores both the reason you still feel good holding an Apple and how good you’re going to feel doing what you gotta do, to happy iTune iPod riffs.
Apple has also managed to show the whole iPod range without boring us to death. They didn’t even mention all, or any of, the cool new iPod features. Thank you, Apple, for that. To you guys and car blokes – we don’t really remember the details.

Clearly, TBWA\Media Arts Agency knows what’s it has. Its four top creatives put their hands up for credits – chief creative officer Duncan Milner, executive creative director Eric Grunbaum and creative directors Demian Oliveira and Jesse Gazzuolo.
The spot debuted in September, in fact, at a U.S. media event. But the YouTube and television launch was held off until October 10th, the day the first new iPod Touch shipped.
