JWT Melbourne has enticed former head of art at Publicis Mojo, Rob Beamish, to a new position as creative director with JWT. Partner Jim Ritchie has been promoted to creative director as of mid September.
The creative duo will work across all accounts and plan to build upon the creative momentum garnered with recent successes in Cannes.
The multi-award winning Beamish started his advertising career in 1999 and has worked at George Patterson Y&R Melbourne, Leo Burnett Melbourne and more recently as creative group head at Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland.
Beamish is also an accomplished screenwriter with his short film, Advantage selected for the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. In 2006 True Love Waits, a co-written feature script, won the Ztudio 3 Minute Opportunity Award at SPAA.
Since arriving from London in 2009 Ritchie has been instrumental in many recent JWT campaigns and notably as creative lead on the Melbourne Writers Festival campaign picking up awards at Cannes, D&AD and AdFest.
JWT Melbourne Executive Creative Director, Richard Muntz said Beamish was an excellent conceptual art director.
"He's a red hot craftsman to boot," he said. "His decision to join JWT is a real coup for the agency. I'm super confident Rob and Jim will prove to be an extraordinary partnership, although why they’re holding hands already is beyond me."
