BCM launches the Crucible Gallery

Brisbane-based BCM last week launched its purpose-built art gallery housed within the agency’s Fortitude Valley office.

The official opening of Crucible Gallery featured the first official exhibition, the Mapping Sensation collection by local artist, Rebecca Ross, with around 100 guests in attendance.

Designed by architects Donovan Hill as part of BCM’s interior makeover, the launch and exhibition is part of a creative partnership between BCM and Artisan Gallery. The peak body in Queensland presents and promotes unique and quality craft and design to an Australian and international audience.

BCM’s partnership with Artisan involves the promotion of new artistic talent through the Crucible Gallery and the development of emerging curatioral talent in the field with the debut exhibition curated by the appointed emerging curator, Tasha Finn.

The Mapping Sensation exhibition will remain in place until March 18 before being replaced by another collection curated by Artisan.

Paul Cornwell, BCM Managing Partner said regular meetings and workshops would be held within the gallery as functional and creative meeting space.

“The launch exhibition was a huge success with all guests really enjoying the unique atmosphere of the gallery,” he said. “The feedback we’ve had about Crucible has been outstanding and we’re excited about our series of inspiring exhibitions which will take place throughout the year.”
