Three Drunk Monkeys has created a new campaign to promote BBC Knowledge's coverage of the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing. "Moon Week" begins on Monday 20 July.

This is the first project created by Three Drunk Monkeys for BBC Worldwide's factual and documentary channel BBC Knowledge, Channel 619 on FOXTEL.

The campaign, titled "Revisit The Moon", includes a 60-second TVC, a 30-second cutdown version and two radio spots. The ads utilise early computer line animation - cutting edge in 1969 - to illustrate the journey, highlighting the more unique and largely unknown parts of the moon-landing story.

Ted Maynard, an American journalist who actually reported the moon landings live for the radio in 1969, voices both TVCs and radio. Some of the facts revealed in the ads include: On the way to the moon, the astronauts encountered a UFO, but decided against alerting mission control for fear of the mission being scrapped; the astronauts landed on the moon with barely 20 seconds of fuel remaining; and once back in the capsule having been on the moon's surface, they noticed the switch to ignite the engine to blast off was broken. Buzz Aldrin fixed this with a pen and they used the moon's gravity to slingshot back to earth.
