Australia shines at the IPA Best of Health Awards

Australian creative agencies shone at the annual IPA Best of Health awards held in the UK last week with McCann Sydney taking out the Best of Show honour. Five advertising agencies were awarded a total of 12 prizes including two gold awards, three silver and seven bronze.

McCann Healthcare Sydney took out the prestigious top prize with their Rational Explanation campaign for Pfizer which also garnered two gold awards and a bronze.
The campaign aimed to encourage healthcare professionals to screen elderly patients during routine consultations, for Alzheimer's disease in order to catch it in the early stages.

The ad features sensitive yet powerful scenes such as slippers in a toaster, tomato sauce bottle next to shower gel, and crockery piled up in a chest of drawers with the tagline 'There's a perfectly rational explanation'.

Jeremy Perrott, McCann Healthcare’s worldwide creative director said that great work rose above mediocrity, set standards and broadened horizons.

"McCann Healthcare Sydney prove more than that, not just with gold and silver and bronze, but 'Best of Show'.  Enough said."

June Laffey, creative director of McCann Sydney was in London to pick up the awards along with Jeremy Perrott.

"We're a small team, but our passion and commitment is huge. This is a prestigious show, and we're so happy for our work to be noticed," she said.

The IPA Awards ceremony is in its 16th year and in 2011 received 350 entries. Submissions for next year's awards open in January 2012.
