Aussie snappers to attend the Lucie Awards

The jurors have selected Australian twin brothers Ian and Erick Regnard to be a finalist in the running for the 2010 International Photographer of the Year at the Lucie Awards.

The brothers' entry "Waiting in Silence" has been recognised as the overall winner in the Special category, from nearly 15,000 submissions and 103 countries globally.

The winners for the following titles International Photographer of the Year Discovery of the Year and Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year will be revealed at the Lucie Awards gala ceremony, held this year at The Alice Tully Theatre, Lincoln Center, New York on October 27, 2010.

As a finalist, the photographers are entitled to two complimentary tickets to attend the Lucie Awards, along with having their work screened at the ceremony.

If announced as the 2010 International Photographer of the Year, the pair will be collecting a cash prize of $10,000 as well as accepting a Lucie statue on stage.

The Lucie Awards is a celebration of the achievements in photography, honouring the masters who have paved the way and recognising contemporary and emerging photographers who are changing and shaping photography to what it has become today.
