Aussie agencies shine overseas

Australian agencies were awarded the following medals in this year’s competition: 5 Gold World Medals, 9 Silver, and 10 Bronze.

George Patterson Y&R Melbourne picked up a Gold Award in Print at the Shanghai ceremony for “The Fleet” for its client The Royal Australian Navy.

Chris Northam, art director commented: “It's exciting to bring to life the traditional values of the Navy in a unique and contemporary way."

George Anderson Y&R also won a Silver Award for “It’s No Picnic” for Cadbury Picnic winning in the Digital & Interactive competition.

The following agencies from Australia were honoured with medals in the 2010 International Advertising Awards competition:

  • Animal Logic of Moore Park was awarded a Silver Award for “Crowd” for client Subaru.
  •  Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne received a Bronze Award for “Dove Love” for client Fosters: Pure Blond;
  • Colman Rasic Carrasco of East Sydney received a Gold Award for “The Killers, Love Story” for client MTV Exit Foundation, the entry also won a Bronze;
  • JWT Sydney received a Bronze Award for “Working Like Machine (Tennis)” for client Kit Kat;
  • Leo Burnett Melbourne was honoured with a Bronze Award for “If it Exists” for client Seek;
  • Leo Burnett, Sydney received one Silver Award and a Bronze Award for “Monuments”, along with a Silver for “Vote Earth Integrated”;
  • Lowe Sydney garnered two Silver Awards for “The Great Christmas Wrapping Paper Swindle”, three Bronze Awards in total, two for “The Great Christmas Wrapping Paper Swindle” and a third for “Socceroos World Cup Qualifiers”; and
  • Publicis Mojo of Walsh Bay took home two Gold Awards for “Pure Waters” for James Boag’s Draught and “The Beatbox Choir” for Vicks Vapodrop.

Other agencies receiving awards from Australia include: Revolver, Sydney, which took home a Gold Award for “Pure Waters” for client Boag’s Draught, a Bronze Award for “Pure Waters” for Boag’s Draught and a Bronze for “Crowd Rider” for their client Subaru.

The Campaign Palace garnered a Silver Award for “Every Colour You Can Dream Of" for its client Colours.

The Sydney Furnace received two Silver Awards for its entry “City, Freeway, Town” for client Peugeot 407 3D Sat Nav, S and US Sydney, RAZOR Group won one Bronze Award for “Better Together” for Match.com.

In addition to the agency wins, student winner Brendan Graham was recognised with a Silver Award for “Your Life Soundtrack” for the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the Student competition

The 2010 NYF Advertising Awards presented a series of special awards. Proctor & Gamble was named Advertiser of the Year, Young & Rubicam was awarded the prestigious Agency Network of the Year Award; Jung von Matt, Hamburg was honored with the Agency of the Year Award; Mortierbrigade, Brussels was awarded Boutique Agency of the Year.

Winning entries of the 2010 New York Festivals International Advertising Awards and Innovative Advertising Awards were selected by NYF’s grand jury comprised of 312 senior creative directors from 56 countries around the world.
 
The 2010 award winners will be featured on websites newyorkfestivals.com, and newyorkfestivals.tv, and are promoted by a network of partners and representative in 84 countries around the world.
