South Australia’s Adelaide Advertising and Design Club (AADC), is calling for final submissions for its 34th annual awards, with entries closing 28 January 2011.
The show, to be held at the National Wine Centre on March 7, 2011, aims to showcase the best work of S.A’s industry professionals.
Co-president of the AADC, Maggie Harris, said South Australia boasts some of the best creative talent in the country.
"The standard of talent within this state is exceptional and continues to see S.A advertising and design firms competing not only at a national, but international level," says Harris.
“The fact that there are a number of S.A-based advertising and design firms with some of the world’s biggest brands on their books is a true testament to the original perspectives and best practice mindset of those within the local industry.
"It is important that the achievements of these businesses are celebrated, as it encourages creativity amongst peers and ensures the bar for excellence continues to rise."
Designer Adam Johnson from Adelaide agency Xtra Shiny was the recipient of six AADC awards last year, including an award for art direction on a series of posters designed for iconic local business,Midwest Trader.
He says that having Xtra Shiny’s work recognised by respected peers within the Australian industry was the highlight of the award win.
"The AADC awards are judged by the very best advertising and design professionals in Australia and it’s great to have our work acknowledged by professionals we respect."
"Being recognised as an outfit that produces quality work is reassuring not only to potential clients, but also to ourselves. It’s confirmation that we are on the right track and producing great work."
The finalists will have their work displayed around the room at The Wine Centre on March 7, 2011.
