Adam Pretty won in both Photographer of the Year and Sports Photographer of the Year categories.

Adam Pretty AIPP Photographer of the Year

Sydney photographer Adam Pretty was awarded by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) at a gala dinner in Melbourne last night.

He took out $20,000 in Canon prizes and the title of 2012 Canon AIPP
Australian Professional Photographer of the Year. Pretty also won the 2012 AIPP Australian Sport Photographer of the Year award.

AIPP executive officer, Peter Myers said interest in the awards continued to grow each year.
“The awards have received a record number of entries from photographers from around the
country,” he said. “This year more than 850 photographers submitted over 3,100 images.”

In their 36th year, the Canon AIPP APPAs attract a prize pool of more than $40,000 in cash and prizes.
