Tim White (4)

Tim White is one of New Zealand’s most respected names in photography today. He is noted by Remix magazine as one of the 13 most influential creatives to watch in New Zealand.

White’s foray into the field began in 1990 when he moved to London to develop his talent for shooting people/lifestyle, beauty and fashion for magazines including British Vogue, Seventeen, The Face and The Times, along with advertising clients such as Liz Claybourne, Aveda and Euro Disney, before relocating to Sydney in 2001.

His Sydney-based clients ranged from fashion label Country Road to advertising client the Bank Of NSW, and during this time, White was completing editorial commissions for Harpers Bazaar and Noise magazine, as well as exhibiting his first solo gallery show from his Signs of Life book project.

In 2005, White returned home to New Zealand to start a new project that merged into the creation of a book titled True North and a corresponding documentary film Whakarongomaikio, Listen (towards) ambience, which was later released as a book and film.

An exhibition of True North will be held at the Rex-Livingston gallery in Surry Hills, Sydney.

White’s fashion and commercial work relate heavily to his personal documentary style as seen in his international editorial commissions for L'uomo Vogue and Time magazine.

White is represented by IDC Worldwide.
