Wherever Rene Vaile is found, a camera is alongside. He has an obsessive penchant for photographing his surroundings, satisfying his greedy eye to capture both the beautiful and mundane. With a cross-cultural upbringing spanning New Zealand, Singapore and Australia, Vaile's work reflects his international origins. At art school during the late 90's, he began documenting his friends in the local skateboarding scene, developing a taste for straight up, honest imagery. This candid style continues in Vaile's photography, which has been seen in both local and international media and exhibited in commercial and artist run spaces.

Inspired by fellow artists, photographers, friends and strangers, portraiture has become a preferred style of his personal approach, such as his work for fashion label Eve magazine and Caitlin (work pictured). When not on fashion shoots for Doing Bird, Vogue Australia or Adam and Eve, Vaile can be found jumping wharfs, skateboarding and riding his elegant racer green road bike around Sydney, where he currently lives with his girlfriend and stray cat.
