Lewis Mulatero was born in Manchester, England, but only spent a year there before moving with his family to South Africa. He grew up there until the age of seven before returning to England.
When the time came to make a decision on a career, he initially chose graphic design. Mulatero studied at Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic but within the final year of the course he realised that photography was his true vocation. He was accepted to study at Harrow College of Higher Education to undertake an honours degree in applied photography, film and television.
For about 18 years, Mulatero worked as a commercial photographer in London and a number of his photographs are included in the permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He also managed to pick up a few D&ADs along the way.
In 2006, he relocated to New Zealand, where he continues to work for clients including Vodafone, Fisher & Paykel, Comvita, Kapiti (Fonterra), Four Seasons Hotel Spa, Shanghai and Barclaycard.
His latest moving imagery work was also recently showcased on website stopmoving.tv.
