A Sydney-based advertising photographer, Adrian Brown has worked with some of the most respected brands in the country, including the Commonwealth Bank, Akubra, Westpac, Westfield, Johnson & Johnson, Canon, Bonds, Northern Territory Tourism and AMP.
He shoots for advertising agencies such as The Campaign Palace, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, JWT, Mojo Melbourne and Sydney, The Furnace and Goodby Silverstein & Partners in America.
Brown began his career in advertising on the agency side, working as a strategic planner and brand manager around 15 years ago, before he decided to pick up a camera and pursue his passion for photography.
In 1997, he began to assist big name commercial photographers Ian Butterworth, Andrea Smetana and Gary Heery before launching his own business, Brown Box Productions, back in 2000.
His style of photography is often referred to as ‘people-based photojournalistic’, seeking out raw, honest and relatable imagery in his advertising commissions.
His ability to capture real people in an intimate light has allowed him to carve out a name and a niche for himself, with clients who are looking to connect with the everyday Australian.
He has completed a number of personal projects, which have seen him travelling solo around Australia and New Zealand, including a three-month trip around outback Queensland, accompanied by his dog, a 4WD and a cherry picker – for added height.
Brown also spent a month travelling around Tasmania, shooting the state's four seasons, which Carlton United Breweries ended up using in one of its campaigns.
