Bronek Kozka (3)

Photographer Bronek Kozka’s work has been exhibited at many galleries and award shows including the National Portrait Gallery, London, the Australian Centre for Photography, Sydney, and the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra.

In 2008 Bronek was a part of the Hasselblad Masters Programme, which saw him produce the first in a series of images exploring the idea of suburbia and memories.

"I explore the notion of suburbia, by using as reference points, suburbia imagery from movies, commercials and advertising," explains Kozka.

"I am interested in the disparity between how suburbia is shown through these mediums compared to people’s own memory of growing up in suburbia.

"It's partly truth and partly a mythical concept, exploring how memory can confuse and also assure one's construct of suburbia."

His clients include AGL, Sensis, Hanover Welfare, Mind Australia (formerly Richmond Fellowship), careSuper, City of Whittlesea, City of Greater Geelong, Victorian Government, Hallmarc, Maurice Blackburn, Vega Printing, Penguin Books and Cengage Publishing.
